When we complete a boiler service our OFTEC registered engineers provide an efficiency report at the end. Many boilers start in the region of 50 \u2013 60% efficiency and at the end of the service are running at 87 &#8211; 93%+ efficiency. In some cases, we have seen boilers lower than 40% efficient \u2013 so if you haven\u2019t had your boiler serviced in a long time it could save you a lot of money throughout the year just by having it serviced.<\/p>\n<p>At current fuel costs if you order 500 litres of heating oil at around \u00a3300 and your boiler is running at 50% efficiency, a large percentage of your heating budget is going straight up the chimney \u2013 based on the average usage of around 2,000 litres per year, you could be looking at significant savings!<\/p>\n<p>The benefits and parts included with our boiler services are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Replacement Flexi-hose <\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>This is a safety issue and an old flexi hose may crack and leak \u2013 having this replaced annually will prevent any issues.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Replacement Nozzle\u00a0<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>A new nozzle will help the vaporisation process \u2013 it breaks the oil into tiny droplets and aids the ignition process.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Replacement In-line filter cartridge <\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The inline filter prevents any deposits of silt and condensation from making their way into the burner.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Flue Analysis\/ Efficiency Test <\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Similar to the emissions test carried out on a car when at MOT the engineer will use a device which calculates the efficiency of the boiler \u2013 once the service is carried out your boiler will be much more efficient than it was before the service.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Safety Inspection &amp; Recommendations\u00a0<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The engineer will check your tank and fuel line and ensure there are no safety issues.
