Valueoils.com values your privacy and takes great care to protect any information you provide us with. We comply with the standards, procedures and requirements laid down by the UK Data Protection Act 1998 and the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) 2018, to ensure that the personal information you give us is kept to a minimum, is secure and processed fairly and lawfully. No personal information is publicly accessible.

1.    What type of information we use

We collect the following information in order to place orders and maintain an account with us: Name, address, email address, telephone number, order history. When you order from ValueOils.com we need to know your name, address, delivery address if different, email and contact telephone number. This allows us to process your order and to notify you of the status of the order. In order for us to contact you promptly in relation to your order we require a contact telephone number. When you pay by credit or debit card, we will request the card type, card number, expiry date, CV2. All data is processed in a secure encrypted manner and we do not retain your card numbers.

If you request a quote, but do not create an account we will receive your postcode and email address.

We protect the personal information that you supply, and only authorised employees of ValueOils.com can access this information. All interactions with ValueOils.com are done so using a secure server service. The secure server software (SSL) encrypts all information and interactions including credit and debit card details you input before they are sent to us.

2.    How we get the information and why we have it

We get the information whenever you request a quote, contact us or register an account with us, either online or via the telephone.

We store quote information for statistical purposes and in order to ensure accurate pricing if you decide to subsequently order with us.

We use this data to understand your requirements and provide you with the best experience possible. In particular, we require it for the following reasons:

  • Record keeping
  • Online account management e.g. to enable you to log on, confirm your identity and fulfil orders which you place
  • Fulfilling our contract by providing you with the product or service you have requested
  • To satisfy legal and regulatory requirements eg HMRC/VAT / RDCO requirements
  • Improving our websites and services
  • To contact you by email or phone for the purpose of admin and/or processing and fulfilling orders and/or taking payment for such orders and/or marketing activities where consent has been provided.
  • Updating our website according to your login credentials eg to speed up the quote process
  • Contacting you on the grounds of us having a legitimate interest to do so, if you are a customer or have requested marketing, we may periodically send promotional mails or contact you by telephone about new products, special offers or other information which we think you may find interesting or relevant using the contact details which you have provided

In order to fulfil our contract with you and complete your delivery, we will, as set out above, allow third parties to process your personal information on our behalf.  The data we provide to them will only be your name / address / contact phone number(s) and is solely for the purpose of completing your delivery. Your data is never processed outside of the UK.

Where we have asked for your consent to use your personal information for a particular purpose, this consent may be withdrawn by you at any time, by simply clicking an unsubscribe link at the bottom of our emails or by emailing customerservice@valueoils.com.

Cookies
We use cookies (small pieces of information stored on your hard drive) to speed up the service and make it more personal by remembering some of your information eg, username and postcode. You do not need to keep these cookies but if you remove them it does mean you will have to re-enter this information each time you visit the site.
